Garey Park: A Real Gem!

Garey Park is more than just the biggest park in Georgetown. The city spent about $13.5 million to convert portions of the rural park into even more attractive, usable space for residents and visitors alike. The park has been operational since Spring 2018, with more features on the way!

Like a real gem, Garey Park needed just a little polishing to really sparkle. The park, representative of Hill Country region of Texas, holds a diversity of native plants and wildlife and contains. The miles of hiking trails throughout the park show visitors everything this beauty has to offer.

Making Garey Park Possible

Garey Park is located on the former ranch of resident Jack Garey, who donated the land and $10 million to be used towards constructions costs to the City of Georgetown. Jack and his wife Doris live in Escalera Ranch, immediately adjacent the park. More ››

Garey Park to Include

Garey Park is more than just a place to stretch your legs. Final plans for the property also include a 600 seat amphitheater, an equestrian center and group cabins as well as a villa that we be used as an events center. The park features a huge meadow for recreation, but will also be used for festivals. Plans include 200 parking spaces adjacent the meadow and another 150 more throughout the grounds.
